How your trip fare is calculated

Objective
Understand how HOVR calculates the cost of your trip and how fees are distributed.

Procedure

Your total trip cost is made up of several components:

🧾 Fare Portion (Paid by Rider & Received by Driver)

The following components make up the core fare and are passed directly to the driver:

  1. Base Fare – A fixed fee applied to every trip

  2. Time Charges – A per-minute fee based on trip duration

  3. Distance Charges – A per-kilometer fee based on how far you travel

  4. Taxes on Fare Portion – HOVR collects and passes applicable taxes to the driver

✅ The driver receives 100% of the fare portion and associated taxes.

🧾 Fee Portion (Paid by Rider & Managed by HOVR)

These additional charges are used to operate and maintain the platform. HOVR manages and retains:

  1. City or Regulatory Fees – If applicable in your region

  2. Insurance Fee – To support rider and driver safety protections

  3. Infrastructure Fee – For platform upgrades and network reliability

  4. Payment Processing Fee – For handling secure transactions

  5. HOVR Platform Fee – A flat $1 applied to every trip

  6. Taxes on Fees – Calculated and remitted by HOVR

🚗 These fees are not deducted from the driver’s earnings and ensure the platform remains safe, reliable, and operational.

💡 Promotions or Discounts

If you’ve applied a promo code, your discount is reflected at checkout. It may affect how the fare is distributed but does not reduce driver earnings unless specified.

Note: While promotions or discounts may slightly change how the total is calculated, HOVR is committed to transparency and fairness for all riders and drivers.

You can view your full fare breakdown in your Trip History under the ride receipt.
